Music Team
Meeting times: Wednesday nights at 7:00 at Rio West Community Church
Team Leader:  David Megill

What’s the Big Idea?

  1. Congregational participation is key. Our goal is to assist the congregation in the act of worship through music. Everything- song choice, musical key, harmonies, style, etc. will be evaluated to determine if it helps or hinders congregational worship.
  2. Worship is more than music. A life of worship is a life of obedience and service to God. It is a life that acknowledges God's gifts and blessings and seeks to worship Him in response to who He is.  This means I’m looking for those who want to serve other and God to lead in worship, not just "musicians."
  3. We strive for excellence in all we do. As we strive to provide the best possible offering of worship to the Lord, we will need to continue to improve our skills, stretch our abilities, and give our best.  This also means we must be willing to grow, accept critique and feedback, and expect to be challenged.  We cannot give our best if we put in minimal effort.
  4. We lead as a team, not a group of individuals. If we are all seeking to lead the congregation in sincere and honest worship, then we need to be willing to step back at times when "less is more."  Just as a good basketball team operates by using each other's strengths and passing the ball, that's how the worship team should operate- working together for that purpose and using each other's strengths for the benefit of all.
